Don Cossack Militia of 1812-1813

Abstract

The article is devoted to the Don Cossack militia in the epoch of Patriotic War of 1812. The Don Cossacks had a practice of the «total trips», but they usually left the 4th part of their army at home. In this situation all adult Cossack from 19 to 45 years old were included in the militia.
