Kalmyk Association of Artists «Dzhungaria»: to the Question of the Ethnic Identity

Abstract
The article is devoted to the question of ethnic identity on the example of activity of Kalmyk association of artists «Dzhungaria» in the 90s of the XX century. The author concludes that art reflects the historical memory of the people connected with ethnic self-consciousness.
