Kalmyks Forced Resettlers in Siberia: Problems of Preservation of the Ethnic Identity in the Deportation’s Conditions
Abstract
The influence of the deportation on the sociocultural system of the Kalmyk ethnos and the ethnic identity’s conservation in the conditions of the referred sattelment are examined in the article. The interaction of two oppositely directed processes is determined of the adaptation and preservation of the ethnicity in the condition of special regime of Kalmyks’ life in exile is defined.
