History and Ethnography of the Kalmyks in «The Short Description of the Kalmyk and the Turk-man Peoples» by J. Vatsenko
Abstract
The article deals with the work of the Principal Officer of the Kalmyk people by J. Vatsenko named «The short description of the Kalmyk and the Turkman peoples» as a source of study of the material and spiritual culture of the Kalmyk and Turkman ethnos in the beginning of the XIXth century, as well as the activity of the tsarist official in Kalmyk steppe.
